Topics and Speakers

  • Mobile Devices
    • Barry Cardoza on "2011 Program Survey Results and Upcoming 2012 Programs"
    • Leslie Lambert on “The Shifting Threat Landscape and Mobile Device Security”
      • Enterprises today are challenged with deploying mobile security and granular access control on a growing number of diverse mobile platforms, including Apple iOS, Google Android, Nokia Symbian, Microsoft Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry. With increasing choices of smartphones, tablets, and other types of mobile devices, employees often bring their personal devices into the enterprise and use them to access corporate resources. This has started the trend of “Bring Your Own Device” to work (or “BYOD ”), encouraging employees to use their own personal mobile devices to access the enterprise network and resources. But, BYOD brings with it issues such as mobile and network security, and it further burdens IT staff with the increasing “consumerization of IT.” Also, when personal mobile devices used at work are lost or stolen, enterprises risk losing sensitive corporate data such as e-mail, sensitive documents, or even valuable intellectual property (IP). Join in the conversation about this exciting and evolving security challenge!
    • Jeff Fenton on "Security and Other Issues Regarding the Use of Mobile Devices."
      • Mobile devices and applications are proliferating, and employees want to use them. Many enterprises lack a mobile device strategy or support a limited selection of mobile devices. Enterprises need to consider how to support a wider range of devices, company-owned and employee-owned, and leverage their capabilities to business advantage. How can enterprises achieve this at an acceptable level of information security risk? What are the legal, HR, and financial issues?

The meeting is being held in held in the Ponderosa conference room. Enter the building, check-in with the receptionist, and then proceed to the 2nd floor by elevator and look for the Ponderosa signs.

(Note that this is the building we used last August, but not the same building as for some prior events. It is across the parking lot from 350 Ellis but on the same side of the street; look for the footpath between the trees.)
