BRMA Announces New Mission, Goals, and Communications Director

From Fiona Raymond-Cox, President, BRMA

Following the annual strategic planning session in January and with input from Board of Directors and Appointees, a new mission statement was drafted. Approved at a recent Board meeting, the new mission statement reflects the association’s updated focus “to educate, inform and inspire people working in business continuity, resiliency, and risk management”.

To accomplish the new mission statement, the Board identified and approved the following specific goals:

  • Educate: Support the continued development and advancement of members’ relevant skills, techniques, and approaches.
  • Inform: Provide our members access to subject matter knowledge and increase awareness of relevant topics and events.
  • Inspire: Provide opportunities for professional networking, mentoring and interaction among members, subject matter experts and leaders in our profession.
  • Grow: Ensure that BRMA remains a thriving association of active members.

The Board is committed to aligning all that we do with these goals to help keep us focused on doing that which best serves members.

In addition, in recognition of an immediate need, the Board has created a new Communications Director position. Chris Scheffler has kindly agreed to take on this role on an interim basis, in addition to his current role as the Promotions Director. A working team of Board members and Appointees has been established to support Chris. If you are interested in getting involved, please let me know.
