Dave Morgan, President of BRMA, welcomes you to our web site.

BRMA is Northern California's largest business recovery association. We are pleased that you found our web site. This must mean that you have an interest in disaster recovery planning, business recovery planning, or emergency response management. Our membership and programs may have the answers to your questions, or we may be able to direct you to those answers.

About BRMA

The Business Recovery Managers Association (BRMA), located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, is devoted to the advancement of the theory and practice of business recovery, disaster recovery, contingency and continuity planning, and emergency response management.

BRMA members work in both the private and public sectors.

BRMA provides an environment where members can keep informed about the latest trends and technologies available in our industry.

Members receive educational and professional development opportunities and a forum in which to share experiences, resolve common problems, and address common needs.

BRMA’s focus is in Northern California.  Most of the members are in the extended San Francisco Bay Area.  The BRMA membership meets in various locations throughout the greater Bay Area.

Mission

The mission of BRMA is to provide:

bulletAn environment that facilitates information exchange among Business Continuity professionals and related disciplines
bulletEducational opportunities to members; promoting awareness and development
bulletInformation related to industry products and associated services

Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of BRMA are to:

bulletPromote the presence and reputation of the profession, by providing a high-quality, credible organization that promotes the best interests of the Business Continuity profession
bulletProvide leadership in the area of the Business Continuity profession
bulletPromote an active and involved membership

Membership

Membership is open to individuals interested in the fields of business recovery, disaster recovery, contingency and continuity planning, and emergency response management.

Each member receives an individual membership with full voting rights.  Members of BRMA strive to:
bulletParticipate as a unifying force in defining and leading the rapidly evolving industry
bulletIdentify areas for cooperation and methods of interface between private sector businesses and public sector organizations

Each member must sign and agree to abide by BRMA’s code of ethics, which prohibits members from using their membership for the purpose of selling services and products.

BRMA encourages business continuity professionals from large companies, small businesses and the public sector to join our dynamic organization.

Organization

BRMA is a non-profit association founded in 1993.  Activities of the association are directed by the elected officers to help the members stay informed about trends in the business continuity profession.

Meetings are held once a month at various locations.

Membership meetings feature knowledgeable speakers and hands-on workshops.  Topical information and reference materials are available.

Our programs promote knowledge sharing for all levels of expertise.  One of the goals of BRMA is to provide useful tools that the members can apply to their jobs, and to their professional growth.  Membership feedback guides the Board of Directors in planning the organization's activities.
